Android Market reaches 10 Billion app downloads

Google has recently announced that it has reached a major milestone on the number of apps downloaded from their Android Market.  10 billion apps have been downloaded and the number is still growing.

Google announced the milestone on its blog:

“This past weekend, thanks to Android users around the world, Android Market exceeded 10 billion app downloads—with a growth rate of one billion app downloads per month. We can’t wait to see where this accelerating growth takes us in 2012.”

Its not surprising that they have seen an accelerated growth in the number of apps being downloaded as many new smartphones and tablet pcs have the Android Operating System installed.

Back in Mach 2011 Google has seen 3 billion apps downloaded, however over the last few months its seen the number of apps downloaded growing at a significant rate.  If the number of downloads continue to grow then in 2012 it would most likely to see it pass Apples number of downloads form its App Store.

To celebrate this huge milestone Google is now offering a early Christmas sale on its most popular apps by slashing the prices down to only 10p over the next few days with different new set of apps available to download every day.

Todays apps offer on Android Market are: Fruit Ninja, BB- Bedtime Battle, AirSync by doubleTwist, Flick Golf, Star Chart, Reckless Racing, Reckless Racing PLAY, Christmas HD, NFL Rivals, Beautiful Widgets and Read It Later Pro.

So head over to the Android Market now get and yourself an app and make sure you check everyday as they have new set apps available to download from only 10p.
