Lovefilm is known for its traditional renting of DVD via postal mail has now improved its business model, its looking to change it to what consumers are looking for in todays market which is to download the movies. Lovefilm is looking to rent out movies to cusomters by giving them an option to download the movie of their choice.
Newly appointed Chief Executive Kristian Segerstrale and Roland Steindorf have been appointed as non-executive directors to move Love film to more of a digital world.
Speculation also surrounds Lovefilm that it is preparing to float to the stock market with a likely valuation of around £200m.
When Lovefilm move into the digital world of downloading it would be a good move as many of us just can’t wait a few days for the dvd and it will always be in stock. I take it they still have to think about how renting a digital downloaded movie would work, would it be similar to iTunes where we have a library from Lovefilm and we click and it downloads or even better stream the contents?
We would like to hear about how you think it should work and it latest move to the digital download world?
