Word Lens real time translation app for iPhone
Word Lens is the new and innovated app for the iPhone that instantly translates writings from the iPhone’s Camera and converts the text to your chosen language instantly and is displayed on the screen.
From the video of the demo of this application I would reckon this app would be a travellers best friend, you only need to point your camera to what you need translating, this would help when you’re in a local restaurant when reading a menu in a foreign language or road signs to destinations.
The app is surprisingly fast when translating, well it seems near real time translation. From the video of the demo you can see how fast it is. There is no need for an internet connection to make this app run, good thing really as the rates of data when your aboard is very expensive.
Currently it can only translate from Spanish to English, or vice versa, however more languages are being planned to be added on. The app is priced at $4.99 and currently if you purchase before the end of this year you can get 50% as a promotional launch offer.
There is a free version available to show users how the new innovated app works, however the free version has limited functions which only allows users reverse any words in the photo image.
